Update May 28: I learned that memes are indeed gone "temporarily". Maybe just like the IM function was only going to be gone temporarily, or that the Followers page was only going to be gone temporarily. Et cetera. I don't care that memes are gone, and I know most of you don't care, either. It's just another chapter in the ongoing saga of JTV. If we still had Community Chat, we could have found out what is going on. Except for Community Chat and Dylan's other efforts (which were all voluntary on his part), JTV has always been horrible at communicating with its users. A lot of other companies are horrible, too, but that's no excuse. JTV should have put up a blog post or at least a tweet. I looked both places a few days ago. Nothing.
I noticed a few days ago, memes seem to have disappeared. Nothing about it on the JTV blog. They arrived with such fanfare even though the user reaction was tepid at best. Now they just silently disappear? Maybe fallout from the pending Google purchase. Another not-good sign if a major feature can just quietly go away. Changes continue to be afoot.
