I really debated wheter I wanted to use the Barry Wom picture. I played around with a few different approaches, including inserting pictures of some of our main artists (Ella, Dinah, etc.). I felt that junked up the clean look of the graphic too much. In the end I decided that the Barry picture ought to be there since, for now, Barry's face is what people will see in the top scroll bar when I'm live. That ties things together visually. I didn't think it was necessary to show the channel URL. I considered listing the decades OtC usually plays, but again, it was just making the graphic look cluttered. After awhile I might change it. For now, I'm going with what you see here.
Look for this graphic to appear in rotation on the VaughnLive home page. I submitted it last night after having created it over the weekend. One can interpret "Gil's Off the Charts" a couple of different ways. Is "Gil's" a possessive or is it a contraction? Hmmm. For that matter, "Off the Charts" itself is ambivalent. Dr. Rorschach would approve. I leave it to the viewer to decide which meaning fits best. I decided to list the show times in terms of the Eastern time zone. I think people are more used to seeing EST times. I didn't want to confuse them or make them think to hard. By the way, I didn't want to use the abbreviation "EST". For more than half the year (including right now) we are all on Daylight Savings time. So technically the correct abbreviation to use now would be "EDT", and then in November, I would have to change it to "EST". I'm a stickler for stuff like this. I know most people aren't. So I just call it "Eastern" and leave it at that. (Actually, I call it "US Eastern" for the benefit of folks on other continents.)
